Michael Groen Joins Middleby as Senior Vice President, Group Engineering

The Middleby Corporation announced the addition of Michael Groen as Senior Vice President, Group Engineering. In this new position he will lead and oversee the product development strategy and engineering advancements for Middleby brands TurboChef, Middleby Marshall and CookTek.

“Michael will be a tremendous asset not only for the brands he is leading, but for Middleby as a whole, as he is deeply knowledgeable in all three of our business platforms,” said James Pool, Group President, to whom Michael will report. “He has a proven track record of successfully engineering new and innovative products that are in high demand in today’s marketplace.”

Before joining Middleby, Michael was Vice President of Engineering at Accelerated Cooking Products (ACP) in Cedar Rapids, Ia. In this position he led engineering, design drafting, laboratory and global service for more than 5 years. Prior to his time with ACP, Michael was with Trane Technologies Inc. (formally a subsidiary of Ingersoll Rand). In this role he led the thermal systems team tasked with developing a global commercial heat exchanger.  

Michael earned an MBA from Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, United Kingdom.  He received his Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering with a focus on thermal/heat transfer from Iowa State University. He will be based at the TurboChef/CookTek facility in Carrollton, Tex.
